Git & GitHub workshop

Learn to version ABAP repository objects with GitHub using the abapGit integration in Eclipse ADT. By the end, you will have connected a package to a GitHub repository, pushed changes, and inspected your commit history.

When to take this workshop

Complete ABAP Foundations Lesson 1 and its practice first. You should have an ABAP Cloud project, a development package, and at least one repository object that you can save and activate.

This workshop is a checkpoint between Foundation Lessons 1 and 2. Use the workflow throughout the later lessons and projects.

Step	What you will do
1. Learn	Connect your ABAP package to GitHub, stage objects, commit, and push changes with abapGit.
2. Lab	Perform the workflow independently, make two meaningful commits, and inspect the repository and diffs.
3. Companion	Review concepts, authentication, supported-object limitations, and troubleshooting when needed.
